TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT

If you want to choose public transportation to get your Airbnb apartment from Liszt Ferenc International Airport Terminal 2A or 2B, you can have two options to do so.

Option 1. Get the bus 100E (100E airport express bus) at the airport and travel to Kalvin square (Kálvin tér). Change to metro line 3 (blue line) there and travel only two stops from Kálvin tér to Semmelweis Klinikák. Your apartment will be just 10 minutes’ walk from Semmelweis Klinikák.

Option 2. Get bus 200E at the airport and travel to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. Change to metro line 3 (blue line) and go to Nagyvarad square (Nagyvárad tér) or Semmelweis Klinikák. From both metro stations the Sobieski street is only a 10 minutes’ walk. Bus 200E operates in a 0-24 hours service time. The entire trip from the Airport to your apartment takes about 60 minutes.

Don’t forget to buy ticket or pass. You can also buy a ticket to the bus 100E and 200E on board with your Visa or Mastercard. Both buses operate in a 0-24 hours service time.

Either you choose route option 1 or 2 your trip from the airport to Sobieski street normally won't take more than about 60 minutes

When returning to the airport, use these route options in a reversed way.

INTERNATIONAL TRAINS AND BUSES

If you happen to arrive in Budapest via train or bus, your way to Sobieski is even more simple. International trains stops at Keleti train station (Keleti pályaudvar) from which the Airbnb location is directly reachable by using tram no. 23 or tram no. 24 in 15 minutes. Hop on one of the trams and get off at Balazs Bela street (Balázs Béla utca) from which the apartment is only 5 minutes far on foot. Tram 23 is also useful to get direct access to the most frequently visited touristic attractions of the city centre like the Parliament or the Chain Bridge.

If you get to Budapest from abroad by bus, you will likely to use coaches (e.g. FlixBus) which usually arrive at Népliget bus station. This bus terminal is really close to the apartment. Take the metro line 3 (blue line) and stop at the next station called Nagyvarad square (Nagyvárad tér) that is only a 10 minutes’ walk from your Airbnb flat.

TAXI

There are many taxi companies in Budapest, however only the biggest one called FŐTAXI is licensed to bring passengers to and from the airport. You can call a taxi in person at FŐTAXI kiosks located at the terminal exits of the airport. Unfortunately, at peak time you have to queue in front of the booth before being served.

Besides the main taxi operators, you can use Bolt or UBER which are mobile app based ridesharing transportation companies. Bolt and UBER are cheaper than general taxi operators and can carry you to and from the airport as well. The price of Bolt, UBER or any other taxi rides between the airport and the Airbnb apartment will range from 10.000 to 13.000 HUF.

We advise you to avoid from freelancer taxis not belonging to any companies, they are not as reliable as the official brands.

VEHICLE SHARING AND PARKING

There are several digital platforms for vehicle sharing services. As for car sharing, you can use for example MOL Limo, GreenGo, DriveNow, ShareNow, Wigo. In the bike and scooter segment, we can offer you to try MOL Bubi, Donkey Republic, Lime or Blinkee.

When you drive a car, you need an on-street parking space that is not free of charge in Budapest except for weekends, public holidays and late night hours. The Airbnb apartment does not have a private parking lot thus you must find an available public parking spot nearby.

Parking fee can be paid with coins and through sms as well. If you have a car with a non-Hungarian license plate, send an sms to the specific phone number designated on the parking machine (choose any mobile operators): type the license plate code, put a comma and the country code next to it (e.g. ABC123,UK). If you initiated the transaction successfully, you will receive a confirmation message. Whenever you want to finish the parking process, send the word “stop” to the same phone number.

The system is a start-stop one, however, your parking expires automatically after three hours so you have to relaunch the procedure. Good to know that different parking zones go with various parking charges about which you can gather detailed information here.

Sobieski street is in Zone B therefore you must pay 450 HUF/hour between 8.00-20.00 on workdays.
